The
second-largest arts center in New York State, this performing
and visual arts space houses several theaters, exhibit
galleries, recital halls, and film and video screening
rooms. Located on the North Campus of SUNY at Buffalo
in suburban Amherst, the facility features state-of-the-art
equipment and can also be used for events such as receptions,
private parties, gala openings and corporate promotions.
Performing arts spaces include the 1750-seat Mainstage,
400-seat Drama
Theater and 175-seat Black
Box Theater. The center also manages the Katharine
Cornell Theater in the Ellicott Complex and the Pfeifer
Theater in Buffalos downtown Theater
District. Recital spaces consist of Slee
Concert Hall and Baird
Recital Hall. The UB
Art Gallery and Art
Department Gallery exhibit visual arts while the Atrium
can hold up to 1800 for receptions.
