The second
largest outdoor Shakespeare series in the United States, this
Delaware
Park event draws over 50,000 fans each summer, and over
one million fans in all. The program began in 1976 as a part
of the University of Buffalos theater department, and became
an independent, non-profit organization 15 years later.
Performances take place in a lovely setting in front of the
newly-renovated Delaware Park Casino, and are free, although
memberships including special benefits are available for $35
per year. There are also shows at the Pfeifer
Theater and the Connecticut Street Armory.
Shows vary through the summer, so check ahead so you won't miss
your favorite.
